Anovulatory menstrual cycles, characterized by the absence of ovulation, pose a significant challenge to women’s reproductive health. Irregularities in menstrual cycles can lead to infertility, hormonal imbalances, and other health concerns. In recent years, alternative therapies such as acupuncture have gained attention for their potential role in addressing reproductive issues.
We will look to first identify the cause of the lack of ovulation and then design a personalised treatment plan. Both acupuncture and herbal medicine can be effective in this area.
Acupuncture can also be used alongside ovulation inducing medications such as Letrozole, Clomid, Tamoxifen or Metformin (in cases of PCOS). Studies have shown increased pregnancy rates when used together compared to medication alone 1
Research has suggested that acupuncture can be a useful aid to inducing ovulation through the regulation of hormones 2, enhanced ovulatory functioning 3 and stress reduction 4
