The following information may be useful in identifying whether you have coverage under your policy.

In all situations (except vitality and WPA insurance) clients will pay directly for treatment and then be able to reclaim the costs through their insurer where applicable.

Acupuncture is covered under complementary medicine. Cover ranges from £250 to £1,500 dependent on the policy you choose.
Normal exclusions apply, i.e no pre-existing medical conditions.
Initially you would have to go to your NHS GP to obtain a referral.
The Acupuncturist would need to be under the age of 70 and recognised by General and Medical Healthcare as a complementary medicine practitioner.

Vitality

Vitality’s general policy is now that they will only cover acupuncture up to a cost of £35. As a full service provider, they do wish for clients to top up the fee to our usual amount. In most situations therefore we will be unable to accept Vitality clients
